How to Play Grand Auto Theft!

1. Streets

All action happens on the streets. Find jobs to do and cars to steal on your friends streets (Neighborhood) and across Downtown (Everyone).

By default, all cars you acquire are parked on your street. You can have multiple streets. A street is source of income for you because you can ticket the cars parked illegally on your street. You also earn revenue per week from city per street.

Start by hiding your cars on your friends streets, otherwise its easy for someone to steal your car by coming to your street.

2. Stealing cars

You can steal any car by clicking on Jobs button under the car. You cannot steal cars distant by more than 3 levels from you. For example, if you are at level 10, you can only steal cars from Level 7 to Level 13. You cannot steal cars parked on your street.

Stealing requires different tools at different levels. After you use the tool, you will be prompted to enter security codes. You are given 30 sec to enter as many codes between 0 and 99 before either you are successful or busted. If unsuccessful, you have to pay bail amount. The amount of bail amount is indicated to you before the theft attempt.

You gain Experience every time you attempt to steal.

3. Hiding your cars

It is recommended you hide your cars on your friends streets, otherwise its easy for someone to steal your car by coming to your street. Click on one of your friends in the list on the right side of the page to go to their street. Then click on the PARK HERE button in any open spot.

You gain Experience every time you move cars on friend's street. Whenever you move one of your cars from one parking space into another you gain experience. It is based on length of time but limited to max 2 hours. And then it starts over again at the new spot. Once you move a car into a new spot, you must wait for 5 minutes before moving it again.

4. Legal vs Illegal Parking

Most parking spots have signs that limit which cars can legally park there. To park car legally over there you have to buy parking permit. Cars parked illegally can be ticketed by the owner of the street. Many times you won't be able to find any legal spaces, In that case you will have to park illegally to gain experience and avoid getting your car stolen by friends.

5. Jobs

Complete jobs to earn quick cash and gain experience. Each job has certain requirements like energy, tools, team size, etc. New jobs become unlocked for higher level players.

6. How do I make money

• i) Level Up - You are awarded money whenever you level up. All the more reason to keep getting more experience.
• ii) Ticketing - You make money by ticketing illegally parked cars on your street. This amount is taken from the violator and given to the owner of the street. Ticketed cars are immediately towed and parked on owners street. The Ticket Value of a parked car goes up over time. The longer a car is parked, the faster its value increases but limited to max 12 hours.
  Because ticket sizes go up in value over time, choosing when to give a ticket can be tricky. The longer you wait, the more the ticket will be worth, but the greater the risk that the violator will move their car.
• iii) Become the first person to park on a friends' street. Any street with '*' at the end is a street where no one has parked before and where you can park to get $2000 cash.
• iv) Sell what cars you have to the dealer

7. How do I acquire better cars

• i) Level Up - Every time you level up, you are eligible to buy cars for that level. As soon as you level up, you are given a discount code which expires in 24 hours. The discount code allows you to buy any car of your choice for 50% discount.
• ii) Steal cars - You can steal cars at your level.
• iii) Buy Cars - Anytime you can go to car dealer and buy any car you are eligible to have.

8. Leveling up

There are multiple levels in the game. Your level is determined by your Experience. When you reach a new level for the first time, you will get a special announcement and the title next to your name will change to something more impressive. You are given a discount code which expires in 24 hours. The discount code allows you to buy any car of your choice for 50% discount.

9. Achievements

You will get special achievements for accomplishing certain goals within the game. Steet Wars notices when you fulfill the requirements for an Achievement and awards it to you automatically.

10. Neighbors

When you start the game, you will be assigned a "neighbor" -- other people who are already playing the game but who aren't on your friends list. Neighbors are a great way to get up and running when you're just starting out. You can park on their streets and start earning cash right away.

Neighbor relationships aren't two-way: you can park on their streets but they can't necessarily park on yours (they probably have a different set of neighbors than you do). If you see someone you don't know parking on your street, they're your neighbors! You can ticket them just like you would normal players from your friends list.
